The Texas Rangers will debut a new commercial this Sunday during Super Bowl LI. The Rangers partnered with TM Advertising and Charlie Uniform Tango of Dallas to create the spot that puts a spin on the classic tune Take Me Out to the Ball Game. The Super Bowl spot features Vaden Todd Lewis, lead singer of The Toadies, an alternative rock band that hails from Fort Worth, Texas.
The commercial also introduces a limited-time offer that includes Opening Day and a 12th game of fan's choosing for free with the purchase of a 10-game ticket package. The offer, which gives fans 12 games for the price of 10, will be available beginning once the commercial airs on Sunday evening until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, February 6 at texasrangers.com/BaseballTime.
"The concept centers around people that could really use a Rangers game - which is just about everyone these days," said Lisa Bennett, Chief Creative Officer at TM Advertising. "The hero of the spot is Jeff, a sports fan who is bummed football is through, but is pulled out of his misery thanks to Rangers baseball."
"The new ad reminds everyone that once football season is over, it's officially baseball time in Texas," said Becky Kimbro, Vice President of Marketing for the Texas Rangers. "In addition to the clever content of the ad, we are excited to roll out a great ticket package that includes a free Opening Day ticket."
The commercial, shot and edited by Charlie Uniform Tango, will officially air this Sunday, February 5th during the Super Bowl broadcast on FOX. The Rangers season opener is Monday, April 3rd at Globe Life Park in Arlington against the Cleveland Indians.
