The Texas Rangers are set to host Rangers Youth Academy athletes in a City Connect game at Globe Life Field on Friday, Aug. 14. The Youth Academy City Connect Experience will feature both a baseball and softball game on the Major League field.
Fanatics is partnering with the Rangers to bring a DJ, AI City Connect bobblehead booth, City Connect prize locker and more to the field for the student-athletes.
First pitch for the baseball athletes is set for 5 p.m., followed by the softball matchup at 8 p.m.

Texas Rangers Youth Academy to host Softball Winter Classic Presented by Higginbotham
- What it is: The Texas Rangers Youth Academy will host the weather-delayed Softball Winter Classic Presented by Higginbotham on Aug. 22 and Aug. 23. The event is designed to provide athletes with evaluation touchpoints for upcoming special events and opportunities.
- Who’s participating: The Winter Classic will feature a three-team tournament composed of Academy athletes. Rosters were selected based on participation in previous Academy programming.
Texas Rangers Youth Academy heads to Kansas City for Negro Leagues Museum Invitational
- What it is: For the sixth consecutive year, youth academy athletes will participate in the Negro Leagues Museum Invitational. This year, Fifth Third Bank is sponsoring the 15 baseball student-athletes making the trip.
- Why it Matters: During the four-day trip, the athletes will tour the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum, learning the history of baseball’s Negro Leagues and its talented ballplayers.
- The big picture: The players will not only gain a deeper appreciation for the history of the game but will also be inspired by the stories of resilience and excellence that shaped the Negro Leagues. This experience is expected to impact how they view their roles as athletes and stewards of the community.
