BALTIMORE -- The All-Star break was not kind to Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor.
Odor appeared to be finally heating up in his final 11 games before the All-Star break, hitting .333 with five home runs. But that didn't carry over into the second half.
Odor went into Tuesday's game hitless in 15 at-bats in his first four games after the All-Star break. He also did not have a walk. Manager Jeff Banister dropped him to the No. 6 spot on Tuesday.
"They've made some good pitches against Rougned," Banister said. "He's fouled off a number of pitches last night that he was putting in play [before the All-Star break]. He's fouling off pitches he is right on. He is going to wind up putting those balls in play with authority."
Odor's chief offensive value to the Rangers is his ability to hit the ball out of the ballpark. He had 17 home runs entering Tuesday. He was also hitting .211, fifth lowest in the American League, and his .249 on-base percentage is the lowest. His .186 batting average with runners in scoring position is the eighth lowest.
Odor has started all five games since the All-Star break. Delino DeShields, who is second on the team with a .283 batting average and third with a .341 on-base percentage (minimum 100 at-bats) has started just once.
Kela throws bullpen:Keone Kela, who has not pitched in a game since June 27 because of a sore right shoulder, threw a second bullpen on Tuesday and could possibly be activated off the disabled list as early as Thursday.

Banister said the Rangers are not committed to the idea that Kela needs to pitch on Minor League rehab assignment.
"This is health-related," Banister said. "We want to make sure he responds and is able to throw the day after without any issue. If he was a starter who needs building up, it would be a little different."
Rangers beat:
• Rangers pitchers induced three double plays on Monday night and lead the Majors in that department with 91.
• The Rangers are scheduled to face the Rays' three top pitchers during their weekend series at Tropicana Field. Alex Cobb is scheduled to pitch Friday, followed by Chris Archer and Jake Odorizzi.
• The Rangers released veteran reliever Wesley Wright from Triple-A Round Rock. He was with the Rangers in big league camp.
