X-rays negative on Rangers 2B, who exits field without assistance

ARLINGTON -- Rangers second baseman had to leave Sunday's 16-7 loss to the Yankees in the fourth inning after tripping over outfielder while chasing after a fly ball down the right-field foul line.
Odor was diagnosed with a mildly sprained left ankle, although X-rays were negative. Odor was able to walk off the field without assistance and will undergo further evaluation.
"It was more precautionary than anything," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "It was pretty mild, but with the situation and the score and the way things were going, I made the decision seeing him on the ground with a grimace on his face that we were going to make the change. We can't afford to lose another player."

This was the second straight game the Rangers had a starter come out with an injury. left Saturday's game in the second inning with a high right ankle sprain. Texas is also without third baseman , who is sidelined with a strained left hamstring.
