ARLINGTON -- Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor had to leave Sunday's 16-7 loss to the Yankees in the fourth inning after tripping over outfielder Nomar Mazara while chasing after a fly ball down the right-field foul line.
Odor was diagnosed with a mildly sprained left ankle, although X-rays were negative. Odor was able to walk off the field without assistance and will undergo further evaluation.
"It was more precautionary than anything," Rangers manager Jeff Banister said. "It was pretty mild, but with the situation and the score and the way things were going, I made the decision seeing him on the ground with a grimace on his face that we were going to make the change. We can't afford to lose another player."

Drew Robinson came off the bench to play second base. Phil Gosselin is the only other middle infielder on the roster as the Rangers elected to not to call up Jurickson Profar when the rosters were expanded for September.
This was the second straight game the Rangers had a starter come out with an injury. Carlos Gomez left Saturday's game in the second inning with a high right ankle sprain. Texas is also without third baseman Adrian Beltre, who is sidelined with a strained left hamstring.
