ANAHEIM -- The Angels officially unveiled their promotional calendar on Tuesday, a slate that includes three Mike Trout-related giveaways and another attempt to set a Guinness World Record -- this time for the use of selfie sticks.
Single-game tickets for the 2016 season will go on sale Saturday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m. PT through Angels.com or the ballpark's on-site ticket office.
The Angels will host 25 promotional-giveaway dates and will celebrate the 50th anniversary of Angel Stadium this season. Fans will get a Trout and Albert Pujols bobblehead commemorating last year's Home Run Derby on April 7; a Trout wall-catch figurine May 20; and Trout's Topps trading card on June 11.
On May 6, for a Friday night game against the Rays, the Angels will try to set the record for "largest gathering of people using selfie sticks," as stated in a team-issued release. Selfie sticks are typically banned at the ballpark, but the organization will distribute them only on this day in hopes of setting a record for the seventh straight year, after doing so with sombreros, sleeved blankets, wrestling masks, cowboy hats, wigs and Santa hats.
Saturday Night Fireworks and Family Sundays will return this year, as will a free Fiesta Angels event on May 7. Other highlights from the Angels' promotional calendar include a wall calendar (April 4 and 5), Memorial Day Weekend BBQ apron (May 27), cooler bag (June 10), Christmas in June "Ugly Sweater" baseball cap (June 24), 1970s-style Rally Monkey (July 15), umbrella hat (July 31), soccer scarf (Aug. 2), Mickey Mouse replica statue (Sept. 16) and a team photo (Oct. 2).
