As it happens, three legendary broadcasters -- all now in the National Baseball Hall of Fame alongside Aaron -- were on hand to chronicle the historic round tripper, which came 50 years ago Monday and made Aaron baseball’s all-time home run king, surpassing Babe Ruth.

There was Milo Hamilton, who was the Braves’ radio voice at the time. There was Vin Scully, who spent 67 years broadcasting Dodgers games from 1950-2016 and was on the away call that evening. And there was Curt Gowdy, who was on the national television broadcast for NBC.
