WASHINGTON -- The waiting game continues for the Tigers to get Cameron Maybin into their outfield. While Maybin's rehab assignment continues at Triple-A Toledo, he continues to be limited to designated-hitter duties.
Maybin made his fourth consecutive start at DH for the Mud Hens on Tuesday night. The plan, according to manager Brad Ausmus, is to get him in center field for the Hens on Wednesday.
Though Maybin has been on the 15-day disabled list since the end of Spring Training with a left wrist injury, his issue now is his right shoulder, which he initially injured slipping off his porch in the offseason and aggravated on a diving catch two weeks ago.

Maybin long-tossed from 150 feet on Monday, according to Ausmus.
"I think since he's been out longer, we have to make sure he's ready to go," Ausmus said. "So he'll probably need a minimum three games in center field."
Maybin's absence has left the Tigers with only Anthony Gose as a natural center fielder. Tyler Collins backed him up with mixed results for most of April, but utility infielder Andrew Romine has taken late-game assignments in center over the past week, even after Collins returned from Toledo on Monday.
