Tigers return to Comerica Park with six-game homestand against Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees

Homestand features U of M and Madonna University Nights, Alan Trammell Bobblehead Giveaway and multiple special ticket packages

DETROIT - The Tigers return to Comerica Park for a six-game homestand against the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees, running from Friday, August 18 to Thursday, August 24. The series against the Dodgers opens Friday evening at 7:10 p.m., continuing Saturday at 4:05 p.m. and Sunday at 1:10 p.m. Following an off day on Monday, the Yankees series has games on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:10 p.m., and Thursday at 1:10 p.m.

Friday, August 18 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers at 7:10 p.m. Gates Open at 5:30 p.m.

  • University of Michigan Night is the latest installment of FOX Sports Detroit University Days. Fans who purchase this special package will receive a ticket to the game and a special edition U of M-themed Tigers hat. There are two versions of the hat - one with the Block M, and the other celebrating the University's bicentennial. Five dollars of every ticket purchase is donated to the Bernard "Pat" Malloy Scholarship Fund. To purchase, visit tigers.com/um.
  • All-Star Posters featuring Michael Fulmer and Justin Upton, who represented the Tigers in Miami for last month's Mid-Sumer Classic, will be given to the first 10,000 fans that are 18 years of age and older upon entry to the ballpark, courtesy of Michigan Lottery.
  • Postgame fireworks are presented by Pepsi, hosted by Rat and Puff from AMP Radio, and are weather permitting. Pepsi Pop Up to the Plate will take place on the field between the end of the game and start of fireworks.
  • Leinie Fridays Party Pack: For as low as $22, you can secure a game ticket plus one 20-ounce Leinenkugel's draft beer. This ticket package is subject to availability.
  • Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Raffle: The Detroit Tigers Foundation 50/50 Charity Raffle continues at Comerica Park this season at all Friday and Saturday home games. The partner charity for this weekend is the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, whose mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Tickets will be sold on a digital platform and are 2 for $5, 5 for $10, 20 for $20 and 80 for $40. Six 50/50 Raffle kiosks are stationed throughout the ballpark where fans will be able to purchase tickets and see the pot size in real-time. Five kiosks will be on the 100-level concourse and one kiosk will be on the 2nd floor suites entrance. The winner will be announced on the Comerica Park scoreboard before the end of the game. The 50/50 Charity Raffle program has raised more than $1.6 million for charity.
  • The Hills Little League, from Sydney, Australia, advanced to the Junior League World Series, which will be played August 13-20 in Taylor, Michigan. The team is coached by Les Stockdale, a friend of former Tigers pitcher and Sydney native, Brad Thomas. The team will be in attendance to meet and greet current Tigers pitcher Warwick Saupold, a native of Perth, Australia (and former member of the Australian national baseball team), on the field during Tigers batting practice.
  • The national anthem will be performed by Midnight Blue, an all-female acapella group from the University of Michigan.
  • The ceremonial first pitches will be thrown by Detroit Red Wings center Dylan Larkin, representing the University of Michigan, and Doug Britland, representing Red Robin.

Saturday, August 19 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers at 4:05 p.m. Gates Open at 2:30 p.m.

  • Alan Trammell Bobbleheads will be given to the first 10,000 fans upon entry to the ballpark, courtesy of Frito Lay.
  • Alumni Saturday's Presented by Comerica Bank: This week's featured Tiger is 1984 World Series Champion and special assistant to the General Manager, Alan Trammell. Fans have multiple chances to interact with the six-time All-Star, including a Q&A session at Big Cat Court from 2:45 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and seeing Mr. Trammell throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
  • Yooper Special Ticket Package: Fans who purchased this sold-out special ticket package recognizing Tigers fans from Michigan's Upper Peninsula will receive a ticket to the game and an exclusive Yooper-themed Detroit Tigers hat.
  • UMPS Care: Through The BLUE Crew Ticket program, guests will receive complimentary game tickets, a Tigers cap, a food and beverage stipend, baseball themed items and a photo to remember their experience at Comerica Park. Additionally, all guests are given the opportunity to meet the umpires and take a photo on the field. Participants are selected through Boys and Girls Club of America and the Dave Thomas Foundation, and the entire program is courtesy of UMPS CARE Charities.
  • Verlander's Victory for Veterans: Tigers pitcher Justin Verlander hosts Veterans from Veterans Affairs Medical Centers throughout the state of Michigan. These Veterans sustained injuries or illness in Iraq during Operation Iraqi Freedom or in Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom. The Veterans along with their families cheer on the Tigers from the comfort of Verlander's personal luxury suite. After serving our country, the special day provides American veterans the opportunity to enjoy a Tigers game with their family. This week, veterans from the Ann Arbor VA Medical Center will enjoy 18 luxury suite tickets and parking passes in the Tigers Parking Garage. Food and beverage is provided for the guests courtesy of Verlander. Veterans receive a personalized welcome letter from Verlander and all guests receive a Verlander's Victory for Veterans t-shirt.

  • All Sunday home games are Chevy Youth Baseball Sunday Kids Days at Comerica Park. All kids 14-and-under will receive a free promotional item as part of the "Every Kid, Every Sunday" giveaway guarantee, enjoy free rides courtesy of Kroger on the Comerica Bank Carousel or the Fly Ball Ferris Wheel, take part in free face painting, and hang out with the Tigers Party Patrol at the Big Cat Court. Across from the Big Cat Court next to the Kids Club Station, select kids will have the chance to win a mini-Chevrolet Silverado (two giveaways each Sunday). Following the game, all kids 14-and-under are invited down to the field for Kids Run the Bases courtesy of Aquafina, weather permitting.

  • Grand Slam Values Coupon Books will be given to all fans upon entry to the ballpark.
  • Madonna University Night is the latest installment of FOX Sports Detroit University Days. Fans who purchase this special package will receive a ticket to the game and a special edition Madonna University-themed Tigers hat.   • Miguel Cabrera Family Scholarship: Miguel Cabrera and his wife, Rosangel, have partnered with the Detroit Tigers Foundation, an affiliate of Ilitch Charities, to establish the Miguel Cabrera Family Scholarship Fund. The scholarship, intended for first-generation college students from Michigan or Florida, is a permanent endowment with the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, initially valued at approximately $250,000. On Tuesday, August 22, Miguel Cabrera will participate in an on-field, pre-game ceremony to honor the inaugural scholarship recipients of the Miguel Cabrera Family Scholarship. The 2017 recipients are Deepa Day, a first-generation college student from the Detroit International Academy, and Donnell Williams, a first-generation college student from Riverview Community High School.

  • Ceremony of Champions: The Ceremony of Champions is a pre-game ceremony that recognizes the governing bodies of youth baseball and softball among the various levels of players both nationally and around the globe. The teams that participate in the pre-game ceremony have advanced to championships representing the State of Michigan. The ceremony will include a parade of teams around the Comerica Park warning track and special recognition of the eight governing bodies.
  • The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by Bobby Simon, representing Frito Lay.

Thursday, August 24 vs. New York Yankees at 1:10 p.m. Gates Open at 11:30 a.m.
