In May, the Minnesota Twins hosted two glove giveaway events in Minneapolis and St. Paul for Twins RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) 8U participants. The gloves were provided by the Twins Community Fund and Pitch In For Baseball. The Minneapolis Parks and Recreation held their glove event on Thursday, May 4 at Farview Park. Twins infielder, Eduardo Escobar was on site to hand out gloves and spoke with kids on the importance of education, working hard, and having fun. A few weeks later as apart of Twins Hope Week presented by Subway, Saint Paul Parks and Recreation held their event at Rice and Arlington Field.
Over 2,500 Twins RBI 8U participants will receive a free baseball glove this season. "By providing a glove we are growing the game of baseball," said Minnesota Twins Community Fund Executive Director, Bryan Donaldson.
The Twins RBI program in partnership with MLB, Twins Community Fund, Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board, and City of Saint Paul Parks and Recreation operates to provide leagues in their respective cities. The Twins RBI program nearly serves 6,000 youth in the Twins Cities. 
Pitch In For Baseball (PIFB) is a non-profit based out of Harleysville, PA. Their mission is to break down barriers that prevent boys and girls from playing ball by providing equipment directly to leagues, schools and organizations around the world. Over the past decade, they have been able to make an impact on more than a half a million children around the world.
The Twins Community Fund continues to support and enrich local and regional communities by providing resources for the healthy development of children and families through an association with baseball, softball and the Minnesota Twins.
