ATLANTA -- After claiming their fourth straight victory with Sunday afternoon's 9-2 win over the Padres at SunTrust Park, the Braves had reason for concern regarding the possibility Tyler Flowers might miss some time due to the right hamstring he strained during the game.
Flowers felt some discomfort in his hamstring when he doubled to begin the seventh inning. He remained in the game but exited moments later when he realized he wouldn't have had enough strength to even think about tagging up when Padres left fielder Travis Jankowski climbed the left-field wall to rob Jace Peterson of a home run.
"He's going to be day to day," Braves manager Brian Snitker said. "We're going to re-evaluate him tomorrow and see where we're at. Hopefully it's nothing real serious, because he's swinging that bat real well."
Flowers has batted .407 (11-for-27), with the help of nine hits in his past 19 at-bats. But the Braves now are looking at the possibility of going through a stretch without their starting catcher.

There seemed to be some reason for optimism after Flowers was tested following Sunday's game. So the Braves will wait at least one more day before deciding whether he needs to be placed on the 10-day disabled list.
The Braves are already carrying three catchers, so Kurt Suzuki could become the primary catcher and Anthony Recker the backup in Flowers' absence. If there's a need to promote another position player, third-base prospectRio Ruiz could be recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to fill a spot on Atlanta's bench.
