Freeman undergoes bloodwork after exiting vs. Dodgers with dizziness

April 21st, 2026

DENVER -- Rockies manager Warren Schaeffer said bloodwork turned out “pretty good” on utility man Tyler Freeman, who left Monday 12-3 loss to the Dodgers after the top of the first inning because of dizziness.

Freeman started in right field and caught Will Smith’s first-inning fly ball. But TJ Rumfield replaced him as a pinch-hitter in the No. 4 spot in the order in the bottom of the first.

“He got some bloodwork done, it all turned out pretty good, so we’re just going to see how it goes throughout the day,” said Schaeffer, who added that Freeman was at Coors Field on Tuesday.

A sparkplug type who puts balls in play, Freeman has a .294 batting average and five RBIs in 12 games. Freeman began the year on the injured list with a back injury that had bothered him throughout the offseason and has had to rest on occasion, but when available, he has been one of the team’s better hitters.
