Umpires, official scorers & coaches announced for 2017 All-Star Game

West to serve as crew chief at 88th Midsummer Classic; Marlins' Mattingly to coach NL; Rays' Cash to coach AL

Joe West, who became the third umpire in history to work his 5,000th career game in June, will call balls and strikes and will serve as Crew Chief at Baseball's 88th All-Star Game presented by Mastercard on Tuesday, July 11th at Marlins Park in Miami.

West will work his third Midsummer Classic (previous: 1987, 2005), including his second as Crew Chief (2005). This will mark the third career All-Star assignment for Hernandez (previous: 1999, 2009); the second for Carlson (2003); and the first for Conroy, Gonzalez and Estabrook. The Replay Official who will be based in the Replay Operations Center at MLB Advanced Media during the 2017 All-Star Game will be Doug Eddings, a 19th-year Major League Umpire. Eddings worked the 2004 All-Star Game in Houston.
