NEW YORK – Braves manager Walt Weiss was ejected from Saturday afternoon’s game against the Yankees in the fifth inning by home plate umpire Dan Merzel after arguing a balk call on left-hander .

With the score tied at 2, Spencer Jones on third and Austin Wells in the batter’s box, Merzel believed Sale twitched his right leg before throwing a pitch. Merzel told Jones to touch home plate.

Weiss and Sale argued for several minutes, saying Sale did nothing of the sort. Weiss was then ejected from the game with the Yankees leading, 3-2. It was Weiss' first ejection as the Braves' manager.
