Watch Rockies-D-backs today, live on YouTube

Baseball fans can catch the latest bout between the National League West’s Rockies and D-backs in a special digital broadcast Wednesday afternoon, airing live exclusively on YouTube.

The Rockies and D-backs wrap a three-game series at Chase Field at 3:40 p.m. ET, the latest MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube. An MLB Network production, the contest can be viewed for free on MLB’s official YouTube page.

These clubs met last week for a three-game series in Denver, which the D-backs won, two games to one. The finale saw the Rockies win in thrilling fashion as Nolan Arenado slugged a two-run homer off Arizona closer Archie Bradley to prevent a series sweep. That momentum didn’t carry over to Phoenix, however, as the D-backs won Monday’s opener, 5-3.

Arizona collected the victory again Tuesday night, 8-7, led by a five-run sixth inning that saw third baseman Eduardo Escobar collect his 100th RBI of the season. After Colorado earned a sweep in June, the D-backs have won seven of the last eight meetings between the two clubs.

Neither club is likely to catch the Dodgers -- who own the NL’s top record by a wide margin -- in the NL West, but both are still chasing a Wild Card berth. The D-backs entered Wednesday trailing the Cubs by four games for the second spot. The Rockies, meanwhile, have mostly fallen out of contention, but they’re hoping for a late-season push, and between the two series vs. Arizona, Colorado swept the Marlins in a three-game weekend set.

Wednesday’s tilt will feature Rockies right-hander Tim Melville vs. D-backs righty Mike Leake. Melville was called up from Triple-A on Wednesday morning to replace Jon Gray, who was placed on the 60-day injured list with a fractured left foot.

Leake is slated to make his fourth start since joining Arizona at the Trade Deadline. He has made two solid starts that book-ended a disastrous eight-run, four-homer outing against the Dodgers in Los Angeles to post a 7.71 ERA (14 earned runs in 16 1/3 innings) in a D-backs uniform.
