The Battle of the Beltways is well underway in Baltimore, where the Nationals and Orioles got the annual turf war going Monday night (a 6-4 O's win). The series continues Tuesday as the headliner of a full slate of games around the league.
Tune in for the rivalry, but also tune in for the rare chance to see Manny Machado and Bryce Harper, two of the game's best players, on the same field together. Harper has been one of the best hitters in baseball this season, and recently returned from a groin strain. Machado is hitting the ball as hard as he ever has, despite some tough luck early in the season. He's still a must-watch at the plate and the hot corner.

NYC Story: SFG@NYM, 7:10 p.m.
The Giants always attract big crowds when they come to New York, where the franchise started so many decades ago. This week will be no different, as black and orange jerseys flooded Citi Field on Monday (the Mets won, 4-3, on Neil Walker's walk-off single). Jeff Samardzija (0-4, 5.03 ERA) looks for his first win of the season, against Zack Wheeler (1-2, 4.78 ERA).

Beltways battle: WSH@BAL, 7:05 p.m.
The Battle of the Beltways also serves as a homecoming of sorts for Matt Wieters, the Nationals catcher who spent the first eight seasons of his career in Baltimore. Wieters is slated to catch Nationals ace Max Scherzer, who is coming off an excellent star against Arizona. Scherzer (4-2, 2.66 ERA) will be opposed by Ubaldo Jimenez (1-1, 6.58 ERA).
The Orioles took three of four from the Nats in the Beltways Series last year.
Strikeout city: DET@ARI, 9:40 p.m.
The best pitching matchup of the night is scheduled for Arizona, where Robbie Ray (2-2, 3.47 ERA) brings his swing-and-miss stuff to the mound against one of the best swing-and-miss pitchers of his generation. Ray ranks fourth in baseball with 12.1 strikeouts per nine, while Justin Verlander's (2-2, 4.21 ERA) 2,232 career strikeouts rank fourth among active pitchers.
The Tigers and D-backs both also rank in the top third of baseball in slugging percentage, so we could be in for a wild one.

Does the big fish return? LAA@OAK, 10:05 p.m. 
It's been a long few days for the Angles without Michael Trout, who hasn't played since Friday with groin tightness. The injury isn't considered serious, so the reigning AL MVP could be back in the lineup Tuesday against an Oakland club which is on a run of three straight walk-off wins. Trout has 23 career home runs against the A's, tied for his most against any opponent. Alex Meyer (0-1, 9.39 ERA) makes his third start of the season, against A's young stud Jharel Cotton (3-3, 4.64 ERA).
Cody steals the show: PIT@LAD, 10:10 p.m.
What will Dodgers rookie Cody Bellinger do for an encore after winning the NL Player of the Week Award in just his second week in the big leagues? That remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: he probably won't walk against Pirates starter Ivan Nova. Nova (3-3, 2.14 ERA) has posted an MLB-best 0.21 walks per nine this season.
