Team to watch
The Hillsboro Hops (High-A) are set to feature seven of the D-backs’ Top 30 prospects, including top prospect Corbin Carroll and three of Arizona’s Top 10. Carroll is the headliner of the group, but there are several other intriguing names. Bryce Jarvis, the 18th overall pick from the 2020 Draft, will be making his professional debut, and Blaze Jordan (No. 17) drew rave reviews for his performance in Minor League Spring Training.

New faces
Jarvis, Arizona’s No. 8 prospect, will make his professional debut with High-A Hillsboro after being selected 18th overall in the 2020 Draft. The 23-year-old right-hander spent some time at the alternate training site last season and impressed club officials in Minor League camp over the past couple weeks. Jarvis throws four pitches -- fastball, curveball, slider and changeup -- that all grade out as average or better offerings and sits in the mid-90s with his fastball.

On the shelf
Kristian Robinson, the D-backs’ No. 2 prospect, wont be available at the start of the season. Robinson is still in his native Bahamas, sorting through a visa issue, which has been complicated by a pending legal issue. Slade Cecconi is being held back with a minor wrist issue on his non-throwing hand.
