Team to watch
If you like pitching, it's Double-A Pensacola with starters Eury Pérez and Dax Fulton and hard-throwing reliever Sean Reynolds. If you favor hitting, High-A Beloit features recent bonus babies Jacob Berry, Joe Mack, Yiddi Cappe and Kahlil Watson. Don't be surprised if Berry rakes his way to Pensacola in short order.

Players we could see in MLB in 2023
Pérez won't turn 20 until mid-April, but his stuff and pitchability are so good that he should arrive in Miami sometime this summer. Jacob Amaya is a better shortstop defender than anyone on the big league roster and third baseman Jordan Groshans could push for a starting job on the Marlins. Infielder Xavier Edwards and relievers Josh Simpson and George Soriano also could get the call this year.

New faces
Miami acquired three of its Top 30 Prospects during the offseason. Edwards came along with big leaguer J.T. Chargois from the Rays in November in exchange for right-handed pitching prospects Marcus Johnson and Santiago Suarez. Righty Nic Enright was a Rule 5 Draft pick from the Guardians in December. Amaya arrived in a January trade that sent Miguel Rojas to the Dodgers.

On the shelf
The Marlins' greatest strength -- pitching -- would get even stronger if potential frontline starters Max Meyer (2022 Tommy John surgery), Jake Eder (2021 Tommy John surgery, fractured left foot) and Sixto Sánchez (2021 and 2022 shoulder operations) can return to health. Enright is on Miami's injured list after getting diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma two weeks after joining the organization. Second baseman Cody Morissette is recovering from November surgery on his left ankle, which he fractured when he fouled a ball off it last summer.
