The Chicago White Sox announce promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Minnesota and San Diego.
White Sox broadcaster Ken "Hawk" Harrelson will throw a ceremonial first pitch on Saturday, May 13, in conjunction with the Hawk Talking Alarm Clock giveaway (first 20,000 fans), presented by TOTAL Lubricants. The evening will conclude with fireworks, presented by Magellan Corporation. Harrelson, a 2007 and 2014 Frick Award finalist, is in his 33rd season in the White Sox television booth. He is a two-time Illinois Sportscaster of the Year and five-time Emmy Award winner. Harrelson was honored with the 2010 Ring Lardner Award for Excellence in Sports Journalism in the broadcast category at the Union League Club in Chicago and received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the CSN Awards Dinner in February 2007.

Chicago native Ned, a rescue dog from PAWS, will join actress Allison Tolman and actor Lucas Neff in visiting the #SoxSocial Lounge as part of the Dog Day festivities at the ballpark on Tuesday, May 9. They star in the ABC TV comedy "Downward Dog," which is based on a web series about a woman named Nan (played by Tolman) as told by her philosophical dog named Martin (voiced by creator Samm Hodges).
Chicago Bears linebacker Nick Kwiatkoski will throw a ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, May 10. Kwiatkoski played college football at West Virginia University and was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the fourth round (113th overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft.
Univision entertainment reporter Aureliano Salgado will throw a ceremonial first pitch on Wednesday, May 10. Prior to the game, he will be joined by Jesse Camargo "El Tigrillo" for a live broadcast with WOJO La Que Buena and Univision TV at the Gate 5 plaza from 4-6:30 p.m.
Chicago native Dan Bulla will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Friday, May 12. Bulla is an actor and producer known for "Sandy Wexler," a Netflix original featuring Adam Sandler, Chicagoan Jennifer Hudson and Kevin James.
NBC 5 meteorologist Kalee Dionne will perform the National Anthem on Saturday, May 13. Additional performances this homestand include Mother McCauley High School Acapella and Mac Melody Choirs on Wednesday, May 10, and St. Rita High School Saxophone Ensemble on Thursday, May 11.
White Sox players' wives and moms will throw ceremonial first pitches in celebration of Mother's Day on Sunday, May 14.
Theme Nights and Promotions
The White Sox will continue its long history of welcoming baseball fans and their four-legged friends to the ballpark with Dog Day on Tuesday, May 9. The White Sox hold the Guinness World Records™ title for most dogs attending a sporting as of September 2016 and were the first major-league organization to create a dog-friendly day at the ballpark in 1996. Dog Day at Guaranteed Rate Field will feature the designated "Dog Zone," in the Outfield Reserve, inviting baseball fans and their pets to enjoy the game.
The White Sox will proudly celebrate Chicago's Italian culture with Italian Heritage Night and fireworks, presented by Beggars Pizza, on Friday, May 12. The first 1,000 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/Italian will receive a limited Italian flag White Sox cap, presented by Beggars Pizza. Entertainment will include a National Anthem performance by Tony n' Tina's Wedding cast member Alisha Fabbi and an Italian Heritage Night Party Shop in Section 159.
Family Sunday, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Mother's Day - Sunday, May 14. The day will include kid-friendly activities such as children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kid's menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays. Giveaways
The first 10,000 fans to enter the ballpark on Thursday, May 11, will receive a 1977 throwback three-quarter sleeve T-shirt.
