The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Tampa Bay, Cleveland and San Francisco.

CHICAGO - The Chicago White Sox announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Tampa Bay, Cleveland and San Francisco.
The White Sox will celebrate Tim Raines Day on Saturday, September 9. The day will honor Raines' recent induction into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. Tim Raines will throw a ceremonial first pitch. In celebration of Tim Raines Day, the first 20,000 fans to enter the ballpark will receive a Tim Raines Starting Lineup Figure, presented by Wintrust. Theme Nights and Promotions
The White Sox invite fans to Grateful Dead Night and Fireworks, presented by Jewel-Osco, at Guaranteed Rate Field on Friday, September 1. This promotion pays tribute to the legendary band's impact on music history and loyal fan base, "Dead Heads," of all ages. Entertainment includes a ceremonial first pitch by Grateful Dead keyboardist Tom Constanten, in-game and Gate 4 performances by Grateful Dead tribute band Terrapin Flyer, a Grateful Dead-themed Party Shop in Section 159, and music by the famous band played throughout the evening. In addition, the "Shroom Burger" will be available in Section 122. The first 1,750 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/GratefulDead will receive a voucher for a specially designed Grateful Dead White Sox T-shirt.
In honor of Childhood Cancer Awareness Night on Friday, September 1, the Chicago White Sox will welcome special guests from the Ronald McDonald Houses of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana, Gilda's Club and the University of Chicago Medicine Comer Children's Hospital to participate in pregame ceremonies and events. The special guests will don gold White Sox capes. Chicago White Sox Charities will donate funds from the night's Sox Split fundraising efforts to support cancer research and treatment initiatives at local children's hospitals. In addition, fans can purchase a limited edition White Sox baseball cap that features a multi-colored ribbon representing various cancer awareness colors. Proceeds benefit cancer research and treatment initiatives at Chicago White Sox Charities and Rush University's Children's Hospital.  
On Saturday, September 2 and Sunday, September 3, Chicago White Sox Charities will donate funds from the games' Sox Split - the organization's 50/50 in-park raffle - to Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts. The funds will be designated to assist with the American Red Cross' relief for the devastated areas in Texas earlier this week.
Family Sunday, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Sunday, September 3, and Sunday, September 10. Both games will include kid-friendly activities such as children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available for as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kid's menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays. Children's Autograph Sessions will take place on Sunday, September 3, and Sunday, September 10, inviting kids to receive autographs from current White Sox players. The first 100 kids (ages 13 and under) to enter the ballpark through the Chicago Sports Depot entrance (located near parking Lot B and Gate 5) at 11:15 a.m. will be given a wristband and be directed to a special area for the autograph session. The White Sox are teaming up with Love Your Melon, an organization that provides hats to children battling cancer, for Love Your Melon Night at Guaranteed Rate Field on Tuesday, September 5. The first 500 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/melon will receive a voucher for a White Sox Love Your Melon Beanie. A portion of each ticket sold will be donated to Love Your Melon's nonprofit partners, supporting the field of pediatric oncology, cancer research and immediate help for families of children battling cancer.
The Chicago White Sox will honor first baseman Jose Abreu as the organization's Roberto Clemente Award Nominee in a pregame ceremony on Wednesday, September 6. The Roberto Clemente Award recognizes the player who best represents the game of baseball through sportsmanship, community involvement and positive contributions, both on and off the field. The award was created in 1971 as the Commissioner's Award, and in 1973, was renamed in honor of Clemente - the Hall of Famer, 15-time All-Star and great humanitarian who died on December 31, 1972, during a mission to assist earthquake victims in Nicaragua.
The White Sox will continue their long history of welcoming baseball fans and their four-legged friends to the ballpark with the team's second Dog Day on Wednesday, September 6. The White Sox hold the Guinness World Records™ title for most dogs attending a sporting event as of September 2016 and were the first major-league organization to create a dog-friendly day at the ballpark in 1996. Dog tickets for the event are sold out, but fans can purchase tickets to enjoy the game at whitesox.com.
Fans are invited to enjoy the baseball tradition of having a hot dog while cheering on the White Sox during $1 Hot Dog Wednesday on September 6. The popular large and juicy Vienna Beef premium hot dogs will be available for $1 at Guaranteed Rate Field's concession stands on the 100 and 500-level concourses and in-seat vending as well as club level concessions. There will be a limit of four per person per concession visit, while supplies last. The $1 Hot Dog Wednesdays promotion excludes Comiskey Dogs, a specialty Chicago-style hot dog.
The White Sox invite beer lovers to the ballpark for Craft Beer Night, on Saturday, September 9. Fans ages 21 and over may participate in a craft beer tasting (limit 18 beer tastings per person) before the game beginning at 3:30 p.m. between Sections 506 and 520 with last call at 6:15 p.m. This event will showcase the abundant variety of craft beers available in the Craft Kave at Guaranteed Rate Field. Breweries scheduled to participate in the event include 18th Street Brewery, Alarmist, Bell's Brewery, Founders, Goose Island, Half Acre, Moody Tongue, Pabst and Revolution, among others. Fans are invited to celebrate Halfway to St. Patrick's Day and Fireworks, presented by Jameson Irish Whiskey, on Friday, September 8. Entertainment will include a pregame performance by the Trinity Academy Irish dancers and parade led by members of the Bagpipes and Drums Emerald Society. Three Men in Kilts, a traditional Irish band from Chicago's South Side, will perform a pregame acoustic set as well as the National Anthem. The Party Shop near Section 159 will feature Halfway to St. Patrick's Day banners, scarves and other party wear. The "Sox it to Me Soda" specialty cocktail crafted with Jameson, Green beer, Irish Nachos and Supreme Corned Beef Sandwiches will be available for purchase at select concession stands throughout the ballpark. This special day honors all grandparents who have kept the spirit of baseball alive from generation to generation. Fans will have the opportunity to share their favorite baseball memories and stories involving their grandparents in a video booth near the Sox Social Lounge near Section 154.

Special Guests
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Tuesday, September 5. The Illinois native has served as the 37th Secretary of State of Illinois since 1999.
Angi Taylor, co-host of the Fred + Angi Show on 103.5 KISS FM, will throw a ceremonial pitch on Friday, September 8. Taylor gives back to her hometown of Chicago through her active involvement with organizations such as PAWS Chicago and Lurie Children's Hospital.
