January 11th, 2016

CHICAGO -- White Sox pitchers and catchers will have their first Spring Training workout at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Ariz., on Friday, Feb. 19, as announced by Major League Baseball on Monday. The first full-squad workout under manager Robin Ventura will take place on Tuesday, Feb. 23.
Chris Sale, who has finished in the top five in the American League Cy Young Award race each of the past three years, returns at the top of the White Sox rotation. Other top-notch hurlers include Jose Quintana, Carlos Rodon and closer David Robertson, working with new catchers Alex Avila and Dioner Navarro, who were added via free agency.
Jose Abreu, the hard-hitting first baseman, tops the list of position players. Fans also will be excited to see new additions Todd Frazier at third base and Brett Lawrie at second base.
• Melky Cabrera, Avisail Garcia, Dan Jennings, Erik Johnson, Nate Jones, Zach Putnam and Daniel Webb, along with Navarro, have been added to the list of players scheduled to attend SoxFest 2016. The event is taking place from Jan. 29-31 at Hilton Chicago.
In addition to current team members, the schedule features players representing several eras of White Sox baseball. Scheduled appearances at SoxFest include three-time All-Star outfielder Chet Lemon and pitcher Kirk McCaskill, who was on the mound when the Sox clinched the AL West in 1993.
Standout players from the 2005 World Series championship team also are scheduled to appear. That list includes starting pitcher Jose Contreras, veteran slugger Carl Everett and Willie Harris, who scored the deciding run in the 1-0, World Series-clinching Game 4 victory in Houston. He is now coaching in the White Sox organization.
