CLEVELAND -- White Sox left fielder Melky Cabrera left in the fourth inning of Saturday's 13-2 loss to the Indians at Progressive Field after rolling his right wrist while diving for a Tyler Naquin single during a five-run first inning against James Shields.
"He got X-rays and everything, it's fine," White Sox manager Robin Ventura said. "It's a day-to-day thing and we'll see how it feels [Sunday]. But we just tried to get him out of there."
"I feel all right now. I dived trying to get the ball, and I tweaked my wrist. They checked it, but I'm OK. I don't have a fracture, and I feel good," said Cabrera through White Sox interpreter Billy Russo. "When I hit the grass, I hit it with my wrist. It's nothing serious, and that's good."
Cabrera hoped to play in Sunday's series finale at Progressive Field.
"I have to come tomorrow early to get treatment," Cabrera said. "It's day by day. If I feel good tomorrow to play, I want to play."
The .286 average for Cabrera leads the White Sox.
