CHICAGO -- The White Sox fell into last place in the American League Central this past week, but they still are within striking distance in the division thanks to the continued excellence of breakout stars such as outfielder Avisail Garcia.
The future of this club will likely include more roster shakeups, something manager Rick Renteria admitted was a strong possibility this week.
"I think that all of us know that we're all on the same page in terms of the direction that the organization is going in," Renteria said. "I think we're all thinking in the same direction, and I think we're trying to do the best that we can for ourselves in the present and for the future."
That will also mean tapping into a loaded farm system.
Here's a look at how the farm system currently is taking shape.
Alec Hansen, Class A Kannapolis
No, not Alen Hanson -- the utility man who the White Sox claimed off waivers on June 9. Hansen is far from a big league debut, but he has been dominant at the Class A level as of late. Ranked as the club's No. 10 prospect by MLBPipeline.com, Hansen continued his recent strikeout-heavy trend, fanning 10 while allowing a run on two hits in six innings on Wednesday to give him 50 K's over his last five outings (30 innings).
Spencer Adams, Double-A Birmingham
Michael Kopech, ranked as the No. 2 prospect, nabs much of the headlines for Birmingham, Adams has quietly shown progression in his development. In his second to last start on June 9, he put together the third complete game of his pro career and first of his season, tossing a three-hit shutout while striking out eight against Mobile. Adams is the club's No. 12 prospect.

Micker Adolfo, Class A Kannapolis
Adolfo, the White Sox Minor League Player of the Month for May, played the hero on Wednesday, belting his seventh homer of the season and coming through with a walk-off RBI single. The No. 21 prospect has gone 13-for-39 (.333) with four homers and 10 RBIs over his last 10 games.
Worth noting
• Triple-A Charlotte right-hander Reynaldo Lopez, ranked as the White Sox No. 5 prospect, was scratched from Wednesday's start due to personal matters. He is expected to be available to make his next start. Lopez is 5-3 with a 3.82 ERA in 12 outings for Charlotte.
• White Sox right-hander James Shields, fresh off a three-outing rehab assignment with Charlotte, said he was encouraged by the talent he saw in a highly-regarded pitching staff at that level. Lucas Giolito (No. 4 prospect), Lopez and Carson Fulmer (No. 6 prospect) are among those talented arms.
"They're all working hard and I'm sure they're biting at the bit to get up in the big leagues," Shields said.
