White Sox trade Hill to Phillies, activate Pereira from IL

Prior to Thursday's series finale vs. Atlanta, the Chicago White Sox returned outfielder from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list. The White Sox also acquired minor-league outfielder Dylan Campbell and minor-league infielder José Colmenares from Philadelphia in exchange for outfielder and $250,000 in International Pool money.

Pereira, 25, was placed on the injured list on April 29 with a right pectoral strain suffered on April 28 vs. Los Angeles-AL. He is hitting .250/.310/.453 (16-64) with four doubles, three homers, seven RBI and seven runs scored in 18 games this season, his first with the White Sox.

Campbell, 23, will be assigned to Class AA Birmingham. He is hitting .216/.281/.412 (43-199) with 12 doubles, three triples, seven home runs, 31 RBI, 18 walks, 27 runs scored and nine stolen bases over 55 games with Class AA Reading in 2026. Campbell has appeared in 25 games in center field, 15 in right, 12 in left and three at second base.

Campbell, 5-foot-8 and 205 pounds, is batting .229/.307/.376 (259-1,133) with 57 doubles, seven triples, 32 homers, 150 RBI, 122 walks, 160 runs scored and 87 stolen bases in 306 games over four minor-league seasons in the Los Angeles Dodgers (2023-24) and Philadelphia (2025-26) organizations.

A native of Houston, Campbell originally was selected by the Dodgers in the fourth round of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Texas. He was acquired by the Phillies on January 1, 2025 in exchange for future considerations.

Colmenares, 24, has been on the injured list since May 25 with an ulnar collateral ligament injury in his right thumb, and will be assigned to the Arizona Complex League White Sox to continue his rehab. He is batting .278/.403/.413 (35-126) with three home runs, 19 RBI, 22 runs scored and 25 walks in 36 games (all at shortstop) this season with Class High A Jersey Shore.

Colmenares, 5-foot-11 and 195 pounds, is a career .227/.337/.384 (167-735) hitter with 22 homers, 103 RBI, 116 runs scored and 111 walks in 221 games over five minor-league seasons.

A native of Cerro La Guacara, Venezuela, Colmenares originally was signed by New York-AL as an international free agent on July 2, 2018. He was released by the Yankees on August 6, 2025 and signed by the Phillies on August 15, 2025.

Hill, 30, is batting .213/.284/.375 (17-80) with four homers, eight RBI, 11 runs scored and seven stolen bases in 50 games this season, his second with the Sox.

The White Sox 40-man roster decreases to 39.
