It looked like strike three, but Wilyer Abreu never had a doubt it was ball four.
Called out on strikes in the third inning of Sunday’s Spring Training matchup against the Orioles, Abreu immediately tapped his helmet to initiate an ABS challenge, removed his gear and was standing on first base before the review was complete.
The Red Sox outfielder was right -- the pitch was 0.6 inches off the plate.
Even O’s pitcher Chris Bassitt couldn’t help but laugh, sharing a moment with Abreu after the call was overturned.
