World Baseball Classic schedule released

World Baseball Classic, Inc., on Tuesday announced the full tournament schedule for the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
Team USA goes head-to-head with first-time participant Colombia at Marlins Park in Miami on March 10 at 6 p.m. ET. Both clubs will compete in Pool C.
The tournament begins March 6 in Seoul, South Korea, as Israel makes its debut taking on host Korea at 7 p.m. local time. Chinese Taipei and the Kingdom of the Netherlands join Israel and Korea in Pool A, which will be played at the Gocheok Sky Dome.
Two-time champion Japan takes on Cuba on March 7 at 7 p.m. local time in the opening game for Pool B, which will be played at the Tokyo Dome. Australia and China round out the rest of Pool B.
Defending champion Dominican Republic takes on Canada on March 9 at 6 p.m. ET at Marlins Park to open up play in Pool C.
Mexico hosts Italy at 8 p.m. local time on March 9 in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, to begin play in Pool D, which also features 2013 runner-up Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
A round-robin format will determine who advances out of the first round, with the top two teams from each venue reaching one of the second-round pools.
For the first time in World Baseball Classic history, a single-elimination tie-breaker will be played, if necessary, to decide the second team to advance from each pool in both the first and second rounds.
The Tokyo Dome and Petco Park will host the second-round pools, which will also be played out in a round-robin format. Dodger Stadium will host the championship round from March 20-22.
