Yanks, 3rd-rounder Stephan reportedly agree

June 16th, 2017

The Yankees have agreed to terms with third-round Draft pick Trevor Stephan for $800,000, according to a report from MLB.com's Jim Callis on Friday. The club has not confirmed the report.
New York drafted Stephan, a right-hander from the University of Arkansas, with the 92nd overall pick. The terms of the deal would exceed slot value for the No. 92 pick, which is $588,700.
Stephan was ranked the No. 87 prospect available in the 2017 Draft by MLBPipeline.com. He has a very good running fastball that he throws from 90-95 mph, and he commands it well.

The 6-foot-4 21-year-old went 6-3 with a 2.87 ERA in 16 starts for Arkansas as a junior this season, with 120 strikeouts in 91 innings.
