A week after meeting the Red Sox for just the fifth time since the 1918 World Series, the Cubs will host the Yankees for a three-game series beginning this afternoon, streaming live on MLB.TV.
The Cubs and Yankees last faced each other in 2014 when New York took three of four games in Interleague Play. The weekend series will mark the fifth time these two clubs have clashed during the regular season.
The Yankees swept the Cubs in both the 1932 and '38 World Series and won the past three regular-season series, dating back to 2005. The Cubs took two of three from the Yankees at Wrigley Field when they met in 2003.
The reigning World Series champions look to avenge their unspectacular history against the Bronx Bombers today as Chicago right-hander Kyle Hendricks toes the rubber opposite New York righty Michael Pineda.

Rare sighting: NYY@CHC, 2:20 p.m.
It's not frequent, but it's always intriguing when two of the most storied franchises in baseball meet.
Hendricks is coming off a 2016 campaign in which he finished third in National League Cy Young Award voting thanks to a 16-8 record and 2.13 ERA. The 2017 season has not been as kind to the 27-year-old, who was 2-1 with a 4.18 ERA and has struggled with his command, walking 12 in 28 innings.
The narrative surrounding Pineda is quite the opposite. After a down season last year, Pineda has been fantastic this season. The 28-year-old is 3-1 with a 3.14 ERA and has struck out 37 in 28 2/3 innings while walking just four.

Effectively wild: CWS@BAL, 7:05 p.m.
The Orioles have been one of the main topics of discussion around baseball the past week-plus, but that is not the only reason to tune in to this one.
Chicago starter Miguel Gonzalez, an Oriole from 2012-15, makes his return to Oriole Park at Camden Yards for the first time since joining the White Sox last year. Gonzalez has faced the O's once since leaving Baltimore, taking the loss while allowing four runs (three earned) in six innings on Aug. 5.
Wade Miley, who has compiled one of the more peculiar stat lines among all pitchers thus far, takes the mound for the Orioles. Miley has had an outing with 11 strikeouts and one walk in eight innings this year and also has had three starts with five or more free passes. It's anyone's guess as to which Miley will show up tonight.

Keuchel aims to remain dominant: HOU@LAA, 10:07 p.m.
Anytime Dallas Keuchel gets the ball these days, it's must-see TV.
Not only is the Astros left-hander a perfect 5-0, but he's completed at least seven innings in each of his six starts. He's allowed just six earned runs in 44 2/3 frames (1.21 ERA) on the season.
Keuchel, recently named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April, attempts to keep rolling against the Angels, whom he beat on April 19 with seven innings of one-run ball.

Fulmer faces A's: DET@OAK, 10:05 p.m.
The 2016 AL Rookie of the Year, Tigers righty Michael Fulmer, is off to another solid start in 2017. The 24-year-old is 2-1 with a 3.19 ERA in five starts. He's completed at least six innings in every outing.
The surprising Andrew Triggs takes the hill opposite Fulmer trying to continue his winning ways. Triggs is 4-1 with a 1.84 ERA this season and is coming off his best outing. He struck out nine and walked none in seven innings in a win over Houston.
