NEW YORK – Even with Aaron Judge out of the lineup, the Yankees believe they can generate enough offense to continue fueling their postseason expectations. Cody Bellinger would agree.

Bellinger launched a tie-breaking solo home run and Jazz Chisholm Jr. added a three-run blast in a big eighth inning, powering the Yankees to a 6-1 victory over the Red Sox on Sunday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.

The timely drive, Bellinger’s ninth homer of the season, came on a cutter from Justin Slaten. Since May 1, Bellinger is batting .303 (36-for-119) with six homers, 26 RBIs and a .962 OPS.

Chisholm had struck out in his first three at-bats on Sunday before taking reliever Joe La Sorsa into the right-field bullpen. Trent Grisham also had a run-scoring single in the inning.

Cam Schlittler started for New York and settled for a no-decision after 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball, supported only by Paul Goldschmidt’s fifth-inning RBI single. Schlittler walked one and struck out five, continuing to lead the American League with a 1.87 ERA.

Boston scored its run off Schlittler in the sixth, when Willson Contreras belted a run-scoring double to deep left. Anthony Volpe’s relay throw from shallow left field took catcher Ali Sánchez up the first-base line as Ceddanne Rafaela slid home safely.
