Yankees make a series of roster moves
Club adds two players to 40-man roster
NEW YORK -- The Yankees have added catcher Kyle Higashioka and right-hander Domingo Germán to their 40-man roster.
Higashioka, 26, posted a .276/.337/.511 slash line with Double-A Trenton and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in 2016, playing 102 games while collecting 24 doubles, 21 home runs and 81 RBIs. Higashioka was a seventh-round selection of the Yankees in the 2008 MLB Draft.
German, 24, was a combined 1-3 with a 3.08 ERA in 10 starts for Class-A Charleston and Class-A Tampa this past season after missing all of the 2015 campaign following Tommy John surgery. He was acquired from the Marlins in December 2014.
The Yankees also announced that they have reinstated infielder Dustin Ackley from the 60-day disabled list, as well as right-handers Nathan Eovaldi, Chad Green, Branden Pinder and Nick Rumbelow.
Additionally, right-hander Conor Mullee was claimed on waivers by the Cubs. The Yankees' 40-man roster currently features 23 pitchers and 17 position players.
