Yanks-O's rained out, to play Thursday

BALTIMORE -- Wednesday's scheduled game between the Yankees and the Orioles at Camden Yards has been postponed due to inclement weather. The clubs will make the game up at 1:35 p.m. ET on Thursday, which had been a scheduled off-day for both clubs.
and were set to face off in the rubber game of the three-game series, and both will instead pitch on Thursday. New York won Monday's opener, 7-4, but were denied in Tuesday's contest, as Manny Machado slugged a walk-off homer off in the ninth inning to lift Baltimore to a 7-6 victory.
"I don't think you want to stick around and maybe start a game at midnight, and then not knowing exactly when it's going to stop raining," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "It's probably best for all. It's supposed to be sunny tomorrow. That'll be the first time we've seen the sun in a while."
This marks the Yankees' last visit of the season to Baltimore. New York leads the season series 8-6, and will host the Orioles for a four-game series on Sept. 14-17 at Yankee Stadium.
"The priority is to always play the game," Orioles manager Buck Showalter said. "I'm glad we got in [Tuesday] night's, because that would've been a real tough time."
There will be plenty of postseason implications in Thursday's makeup game. The Yankees sit four games behind the Red Sox in the American League East and currently hold a 2 1/2 game advantage for the first AL Wild Card spot.
The Orioles are 3 1/2 games behind the Yankees and one game behind the Twins and Angels for the second AL Wild Card spot.
Tickets for the Sept. 6 game will be automatically honored for the Sept. 7, 1:35 p.m. game. No exchange is necessary, and fans should bring their original Sept. 6 tickets to the ballpark gates for admission to Thursday's game. All ballpark gates will open at noon, and parking lots will open at 11:30 a.m.
