NEW YORK -- Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks was removed from Friday's 6-3 win over the Rays with a jammed left shoulder in the fifth inning, one frame after he attempted a diving catch in center field.
The team announced that no tests are scheduled and that Hicks is considered day to day, though manager Joe Girardi said that Hicks would be re-evaluated on Saturday.
"As of right now, there are no tests scheduled," Girardi said after the game. "If he comes in and he's really sore tomorrow, you might change your mind. Right now it's just some treatment and we'll see how he is tomorrow."
Hicks landed hard on the grass as he pursued Brandon Guyer's fourth-inning RBI single and returned to his position slowly. He was replaced by Jacoby Ellsbury, who later executed a straight steal of home plate.
"Right now, I feel fine," Hicks said. "It's just a little kind of annoying. But as of right now, it feels pretty good."

It has been an eventful homestand on defense for Hicks, who registered the hardest throw in Statcast™ history -- a dart to the plate clocked at 105.5 mph -- on Wednesday against the A's. He also scaled the wall in foul territory on Thursday to snare a Chris Coghlan fly ball.
