The D-backs aren't losing faith in Godley, who won three of his first four decisions since being recalled for a start on June 11, even as his ERA has continued to climb.
Godley, who returned to the bullpen when
Godley becomes one of three relievers whom D-backs manager Chip Hale can rely upon for multiple innings over the final month of the season. Hale also mentioned
Godley continues to show he has what it takes to pitch in the Majors. His 5 1/3-inning relief stint on Aug. 12, in which he allowed a run on two hits, led to a quality start five days later.
His last two starts, though, have been completely out of character, as he gave up career high in runs in successive outings.
During a solid rookie season, Godley gave up more than three runs in an appearance once and then came back to win his next start.
He'll continue to get his chances over the final month.
