Ace Greinke set to start vs. Team Mexico

D-backs bringing him along slowly, but he'll keep Wednesday's start

March 6th, 2017

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- D-backs ace Zack Greinke will stay in the rotation and start Wednesday afternoon against Team Mexico at Salt River Fields.
It will be Greinke's second start of the spring. He's in line to finish the spring with one fewer start than other Arizona pitchers, as the team wanted to bring him along a little slower because of the longer spring.

"At this point, he's going to keep that start, which will line him up for his April 2 start," D-backs manager Torey Lovullo said.
Arizona opens the regular season against the Giants.
In his first start this spring, Greinke allowed one hit and walked one in 1 2/3 scoreless innings against the Dodgers.
