(2020) and UConn (2021-22)...Went 11-3 in his senior season for the Huskies with a 3.83 ERA in 18 games/17 starts (47 ER/110.1 IP/147 K) on his way to First Team NCBWA All-American, Second Team Collegiate Baseball All-American and New England Pitcher of the Year honors, setting Huskies' single-season record for strikeouts and tying the record for wins...Second Team All Big East in 2021 as a junior, going 7-1 with a 2.58 ERA in 15 games/14 starts...Combined 18-4 in two years at UConn...2018 grad of Chesterton High School in northwest Indiana, playing baseball and basketball...Big fan of the Indianapolis Colts and Cincinnati Reds...Some of his favorite players were Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips, Jay Bruce and Peyton Manning.

Went a combined 8-6 with a 3.21 ERA in 28 games/26 starts between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus (145.2 IP, 130 H, 52 ER, 40 BB, 127 K, .240 AVG)...The Chesterton, Ind., native led all Guardians Minor League pitchers in innings, was second in strikeouts and recorded the third-lowest ERA and WHIP (1.17) in the system...After recording a 1.47 ERA (nine ER/55 IP) through his first 11 starts at Akron, Peterson was promoted to Columbus on June 13, finishing the campaign with the Clippers...Was leading the Eastern League in ERA and tied for seventh in IP at the time...The right-hander posted a 2.45 ERA in five August starts for Columbus (nine ER/33.0 IP), which included two starts of eight-or-more innings pitched and one-or-fewer runs allowed...Held RHH (.245/.296/.411/.707) and lefties to similar slash lines (.233/.300/.375/.675)...Has never been on the IL in his career...Added to 40-man on Nov. 18.
