David Alejandro Davalillo…originally signed as Minor League free agent with Mets in 2021 but had deal voided after two months without seeing game action…father, David, was a former infielder and spent five seasons in the Angels system (1994-98), reaching as high as Double-A in 1996-97…also spent 16 years as a Minor League coach in the NYM organization and earned 2019 Mets Minor League Coach of Year honors as NYM’s Gulf Coast League skipper…the elder Davalillo has also coached for several teams in the Venezuelan League...the younger Davalillo played for La Guaira in 2023-24 under his father’s tutelage... grandfather, Pompeyo Davalillo, and great uncle, Vic Davalillo, both played in the Majors…younger brother, Gabriel, is a catcher who signed with the Angels as a minor league free agent on 1/15/25.
