Hall of Fame election results to be announced on MLB Network

The results of the 2017 National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot will be announced exclusively on MLB Network, MLB.com and, for the first time, MLB's official Facebook page, on Wednesday, January 18 live at 6:00 p.m. ET, part of a four-hour announcement show beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET.

January 11, 2017- The results of the 2017 National Baseball Hall of Fame ballot will be announced exclusively on MLB Network, MLB.com and, for the first time, MLB's official Facebook page, on Wednesday, January 18 live at 6:00 p.m. ET, part of a four-hour announcement show beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET. As the exclusive home of the Hall of Fame election announcement since 2009, MLB Network's program will feature National Baseball Hall of Fame President Jeff Idelson revealing the results and the first interviews with the electees.
Anchored by Greg Amsinger and Brian Kenny, MLB Network's Hall of Fame election coverage will feature Bob Costas, Harold Reynolds, 2015 Hall of Fame inductee and MLB Network analyst John Smoltz, and Hall of Fame voters Peter Gammons, Jon Heyman, Jon Morosi, Ken Rosenthal, Joel Sherman and Tom Verducci examining this year's 34 Hall of Fame candidates. The panel will discuss Tim Raines' final year on the ballot and the changing voting percentages for Barry Bonds, Roger Clemens, Edgar Martinez and Curt Schilling, while recently taped interviews in MLB Network's Studio 42 with Raines and Ivan "Pudge" Rodriguez will also be featured. MLB Network will begin its program with a video narrated by Kylie Bunbury from FOX's baseball drama Pitch  that details the iconic figures in the National Baseball Hall of Fame and who may be next in line to reach baseball immortality. 
Leading up to next Wednesday, MLB Network will air a new roundtable show Insiders' View: Hall of Fame Debate tomorrow, January 12 at 9:00 p.m. ET. In the one-hour show, Costas, Kenny, Rosenthal, Verducci, MLB Network host Christopher Russo and MLB Network analyst Ron Darling will discuss who should be inducted on January 18 and how voters are changing their stances on players on the ballot. MLB Network's analysis of the Hall of Fame announcement will be featured throughout its daily studio programming, beginning with Hot Stove co-hosted by Matt Vasgersian and Harold Reynolds at 9:00 a.m. ET, High Heat with Christopher Russo at 1:00 p.m. ET, MLB Now hosted by Brian Kenny at 2:00 p.m. ET, Intentional Talk co-hosted by Kevin Millar and Chris Rose at 3:00 p.m. ET, and MLB Network's signature studio show, MLB Tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET. On Thursday, January 19, the National Baseball Hall of Fame press conference with the electees in New York will be shown live on MLB Network, MLB.com and Facebook, followed by in-studio interviews with the electees at MLB Network later that day.
The 2017 National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will be held on Sunday, July 30 and air exclusively on MLB Network and MLB.com.
