The Oakland A's agreed to terms with catcher Josh Phegley on a one-year contract for the 2019 season, avoiding arbitration.
Phegley spent most of the first two months of the 2018 season at Triple-A Nashville, where he batted .235 with three home runs and 18 RBI in 36 games. He spent the final four months with Oakland and hit .204 with two home runs and 15 RBI in 39 contests with the A's. Phegley started 27 games at catcher with the A's and tossed out 6-of-19 (31.6%) attempted base stealers.
