A's recall RHP J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Las Vegas

OAKLAND, Calif. – The Oakland A’s have recalled right-handed pitcher J.B. Wendelken from Triple-A Las Vegas, the club announced today.

Wendelken was on the A’s Opening Day roster and compiled a 1.59 ERA over his first seven games. He then allowed 11 runs in 9.2 innings over his final 11 appearances and had a 5.57 ERA in 18 relief appearances overall when he was optioned to Las Vegas May 12. The 26-year-old right-hander went 4-1 with a 6.38 ERA and .299 opponents batting average in 13 games with the Aviators. Wendelken had a 9.00 ERA in seven games in May but logged a 4.35 ERA and .225 opponents batting average in six games in June.
