Manaea was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and .232 opponents batting average in three starts with Nashville and will be making his Major League debut. He is scheduled to start tonight against Houston and will become the 45th pitcher in Oakland history to start in his debut. The 24-year-old left-hander is 16-9 with a 2.82 ERA in 42 games, all starts, in three professional seasons. Manaea was originally drafted by Kansas City and was dealt to the A's just prior to the 2015 trading deadline as part of the Ben Zobrist deal.
Triggs joins the A's for the second time this year as he was recalled from Nashville Monday. He made his Major League debut that night at Detroit, retiring the side in order in the ninth inning and striking out the first batter he faced. The 27-year-old right-hander was optioned back to Nashville on Wednesday but did not appear in a game. Triggs is 2-1 with a 5.14 ERA and .214 opponents batting average in six relief appearances with the Sounds. He was claimed off waivers from Baltimore on March 13.
McBride was selected from Nashville on Wednesday but did not appear in a game with the A's. He was batting .188 with a home run and three RBI in 11 games with the Sounds and also walked five times for a .297 on-base percentage. The 30-year-old right-handed hitter signed a minor league contract with the A's Dec. 24, 2015 and was a non-roster invitee this spring, batting .118 in 17 games.
Bassitt was 0-2 with a 6.11 ERA and .294 opponents batting average in five starts with the A's. He allowed a career-high seven runs on a career-high 10 hits in just 3.2 innings yesterday in a start and loss at Detroit. Bassitt did not have a decision over his first three starts, logging a 2.79 ERA, but is 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA over his last two starts.
Fuld began the season on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left shoulder. He batted .417 with a .517 on-base percentage in 10 games this spring before the injury.
