ST. LOUIS, Mo., June 20, 2019 – The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to tonight’s game, that they have activated right-handed pitcher Adam Wainwright (left hamstring strain) from the 10-day Injured List and optioned right-handed pitcher Daniel Ponce de Leon to Memphis (AAA). The team also announced that infielder Yairo Muñoz has been removed from the Paternity List and placed on the Restricted List due to travel delays in his return to St. Louis.  

Wainwright, 5-6 with a 4.46 ERA, draws the start in tonight’s series finale against Miami. He exited his last outing on June 9 at Chicago in the 5th inning after suffering a hamstring strain during his at-bat the previous inning. 

Ponce de Leon authored six scoreless innings in his start last night against the Marlins in the Cardinals 2-1 win while making his third start of the season for St. Louis.
