June 21st, 2019

HOUSTON, TX – Chevron and the Astros Foundation are committed to investing in local youth programs and have partnered to launch Wins for Kids. The initiative is simple: For every Astros win, Chevron and the Astros Foundation each will donate $500 to a predetermined youth charity.

“Chevron is incredibly proud to be partnering with the Houston Astros for this initiative,” said Steve Green, President of Chevron North America Exploration and Production. “A win for the Astros is a win for Houston – and now, it’s also a great win for area youth programs.”

“One of the Foundation’s cornerstone goals is to continue to make a difference in our local youth,” said Astros Foundation Executive Director Twila Carter. “We are proud to partner with Chevron on this new program and look forward to watching the Astros win many games throughout the season.”

Together, the Houston Astros and Chevron will host a Wins for Kids event on Wednesday, June 26 at the Young Elementary School campus to celebrate the initiative. During the event, the Astros Orbit Team personnel will lead Young Elementary students through an educational show which will include a special visit from Orbit.

The Astros Foundation and Chevron will continue to celebrate milestone wins throughout the season with community activations and appearances. More information on these activations will be announced at the time of each milestone.
