Blue Jays complete trade with Houston Astros

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired RHP Ken Giles, RHP David Paulino and minor league RHP Hector Perez from the Houston Astros in exchange for RHP Roberto Osuna.
Giles, 27, is 0-2 with a 4.99 ERA in 34 games with 12 saves for the Astros this season. The 6-2, 205 lb. right-handed pitcher has pitched 30.2 innings this season allowing 36 hits with three walks and 31 strikeouts. The native of Albuquerque, NM owns a career record of 12-14 with 77 saves and a 2.72 ERA in 279 games for Houston and Philadelphia (2014-2018). 
Perez, 22, is 3-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 21 games with two saves for the Buies Creek Astros of the Carolina League (A) and the Corpus Christi Hooks of the Texas League (AA). The 6-3, 190 lb. right-handed pitcher has pitched 89.1 innings this season allowing 62 hits with 48 walks and 101 strikeouts. The native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic owns a career record of 16-11 and a 3.15 ERA in four minor league seasons.
Paulino, 24, is 0-0 with a 4.67 ERA in seven games for the Fresno Grizzlies of the Pacific Coast League (AAA) and the Gulf Coast League Astros (rookie). The 6-7, 222 lb. right-handed pitcher has pitched 27.0 innings this season allowing 23 hits with six walks and 33 strikeouts. The native of Nizao, Dominican Republic is 2-1 with a 6.25 ERA in nine games with the Houston Astros.
Osuna, 23, is 0-0 with a 2.93 ERA in 15 games with nine saves for the Blue Jays this season. The 6-2, 215 lb. right-handed pitcher has pitched 15.1 innings this season allowing 16 hits with one walk and 13 strikeouts. The native of Juan Jose Rios, Mexico owns a career record of 8-13 with 114 saves and a 2.87 ERA in 221 games for Toronto (2015-2018).
