Cameron Maybin Awarded to Astros on Waiver Claim

The Angels announced today that outfielder Cameron Maybin was awarded to the Houston Astros on a waiver claim. Today's announcement was made by Angels General Manager Billy Eppler.
Maybin, 30, was acquired by the Angels from Detroit on November 3, 2016 in exchange for RHP Victor Alcantara. In 93 games with the Angels, he logged a .235 batting average (79/336) with 19 doubles, a triple, six home runs, 22 RBI and 29 stolen bases. His 29 stolen bases are the second most in his career and most since logging 26 in 2012 with San Diego. His 19 doubles this season are his most since 2012 with San Diego (20) and his six home runs are his most since 2015 with Atlanta (10). In 11 Major League seasons, Maybin has posted a .256 batting average (785/3063) with 133 doubles, 30 triples, 52 home runs, 274 RBI and 160 stolen bases in 889 games with Detroit (2007, 2016), Florida (2008-10), San Diego (2011-14), Atlanta (2015) and the Angels (2017).
