Cleveland Indians players Carlos Santana and Carlos Carrasco will play host to charity events this week to benefit various Cleveland-area nonprofits.
Santana will team with Cleveland Clinic Children's, Boys and Girls Club of Cleveland, and the Cleveland Police Foundation for a charity bowling event at Corner Alley on Thursday night (6-9PM). The event creates a unique opportunity for fans to mingle with Santana and some of his teammates, take photos and gain autographs.
Proceeds will be divided among Cleveland Clinic Children's, Boys and Girls Clubs, Cleveland Police Foundation and charities in Carlos' homeland of the Dominican Republic. Tickets can be purchased at www.Slamtana.org.
Carrasco, former Tribe player Joe Smith and his wife Allie LaForce from CBS Sports, Jason Kipnis and more will host a mix and mingle event Sunday night at Red Space on Cleveland's near East Side (2400 Superior Ave.). Proceeds from the event will benefit Carrasco's Carlos Carrasco Foundation, which does philanthropic work in Cleveland, Tampa, Fla. (Carlos' city of residence), and his homeland, Venezuela.
Other proceeds from the event, held in partnership with Athletes + Causes, will benefit Ohio Guidestone, HelpCureHD and the Huntington's Disease research team at Cleveland Clinic. Fans can purchase tickets at www.athletesandcauses.org/location/cleveland/.
