CLEVELAND INDIANS ANNOUNCE 2020 SCHEDULE, HOME OPENER SET FOR MARCH 26 AGAINST DETROIT

Tribe opens the season with 6-game homestand. Will take on N.L. West Division in Interleague Play

The Cleveland Indians announced today the club’s 2020 schedule, their 120th as a charter member of the American League, and the 26th year of calling Progressive Field home.

The Tribe opens the season at home on March 26 against the Detroit Tigers. The home opener begins a six-game homestand featuring a three-game series against the Tigers (March 26, March 28 & March 29) and a three-game series against the White Sox (March 30- April 1). The Indians will play two additional homestands in the month of April facing off against Tampa Bay (April 9-12), Detroit (April 14-16) and Oakland (April 21-23).

The Tribe will be home for the July 4 holiday for the first time since 2017 when it takes on the division-rival Minnesota Twins.  

The 2020 schedule will feature six summer weekends at Progressive Field from June to August:

  • June 19-21 vs. Chicago White Sox
  • July 3-5 vs. Minnesota Twins
  • July 10-12 vs. Kansas City Royals
  • July 31-Aug. 2 vs. Chicago White Sox
  • Aug. 14-16 vs. Seattle Mariners
  • Aug. 28-30 vs. New York Yankees

Home Interleague opponents in 2020 include the San Francisco Giants (May 1-3), Cincinnati Reds (May 19-20), San Diego Padres (Aug. 11-12) and Arizona Diamondbacks (Aug. 25-27).
