- Signed by the Phillies in 2023 as a ninth-round selection out of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville.
Backhus, 27, spent 5 seasons (2021-25) in the D-backs organization and made his Major League debut in 2025. In 32 games last season, he went 0-3 with 2 saves, a 4.62 ERA (13 ER in 25.1 IP), opponent .283 AVG (28-for-99)/.813 OPS, 8 walks and 22 strikeouts.
