Scott, 29, has played parts of the last 3 seasons with the Red Sox (2016-18) and, in 73 relief appearances, is 3-2 with a 3.91 ERA (21 ER in 48.1 IP), .217 opponent average and 44 strikeouts. He has held lefties to a .149 average with 24 strikeouts (9 walks).u5:p
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 238-pounder appeared in 9 games (6.2 IP) for the Red Sox. In 45 games for Triple-A Pawtucket, he was 3-3 with 3 saves, a 1.86 ERA (10 ER in 48.1 IP), .200 opponent average and 63 strikeouts. He held lefties to a .148 average with 24 strikeouts (6 walks) and righties to a .228 average with 39 strikeouts (15 walks).u5:p
In 2017 with the Red Sox, he made a career-high 57 appearances and went 2-1 with a 3.79 ERA (15 ER in 35.2 IP), .179 opponent average, 0.98 WHIP and 31 strikeouts. He ranked seventh among AL relievers [min. 50 games] in opponent average (.179) and ninth in WHIP (0.98).u5:p
