D-backs Agree to Terms with RHP Michael Soroka

The Arizona Diamondbacks agreed to terms with RHP Michael Soroka on a 1-year contract with a mutual option. To make room on the 40-man roster, RHP Bryce Jarvis was designated for assignment.

The D-backs’ 40-man roster is at 40.

  • In 2025, went a combined 3-8 with a 4.52 ERA (45 ER in 89.2 IP), opponent .216 AVG, 29 walks and 95 strikeouts over 22 games (17 starts) with the Nationals (16 GS) and Cubs (6 G).
  • Has made 3 career Postseason appearances with the Cubs (2 G in 2025) and Braves (1 GS in 2019).
  • 2019 NL All-Star, 2019 All-MLB Second Team and 2019 NL Rookie of the Year runner-up with the Braves after a career-best 13-4 with a 2.68 ERA (52 ER in 174.2 IP), opponent .236 AVG, 41 walks and 142 strikeouts in 29 starts with the Braves…in Rookie of the Year voting, was second behind Pete Alonso/NYMand ahead of Fernando Tatis Jr./SD and Bryan Reynolds/PIT.
  • In 2020, made his first career Opening Day start at age 22 years and 355 days, becoming the youngest Opening Day starter in Braves history.
  • Has appeared in 91 games (69 starts) over parts of 6 seasons in the Majors with the Braves (2018-20, ’23), White Sox (2024), Nationals (2025) and Cubs (2025).
