D-backs recall Troy Scribner from Triple-A Reno

The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Troy Scribner (@troyscribs) from Triple-A Reno. Following last night's game, the D-backs optioned RHP Jake Barrett to Reno.
 
Scribner, 26, will wear No. 41 in his D-backs debut. In 5 starts at Reno, he was 2-1 with a 5.68 ERA (16 ER in 25.1 IP), a .234 opponent average (22-for-94) and 24 strikeouts. He held lefties to a .200 average (9-for-45) with 16 strikeouts, while righties hit .265 (13-for-49) with 8 strikeouts. With runners in scoring position, he held opponents to a .158 average (3-for-19) with 6 strikeouts. With runners on base, opponents hit .220 (9-for-41) with 11 strikeouts.
 
Last season, his first in the Majors, he appeared in 10 games (4 starts) with the Los Angeles Angels. He was 2-1 with a 4.18 ERA (11 ER in 23.2 IP), a .195 opponent average (17-for-87) and 18 strikeouts. In 4 starts, he went 1-1 with a 4.32 ERA (8 ER in 16.2 IP), a .180 opponent average (11-for-61) and 15 strikeouts. He earned the win in his Major League debut on July 29, 2017 @ Toronto Blue Jays, working 3.0 innings of relief with 2 runs on 3 hits and 2 strikeouts.
 
He opened 2017 at Triple-A Salt Lake, and at the time of his promotion to the Angels, he was leading the Pacific Coast League with 10 wins and was fifth with 98 strikeouts. Overall, in 20 games (19 starts) for Salt Lake, he went 11-4 with a 4.35 ERA (50 ER in 103.1 IP), a .253 opponent average (100-for-396) and 103 strikeouts.
 
His brother, Evan, pitched 7 seasons in the Majors (2011-17). He was the D-backs' 28th-round pick in the 2007 draft, and played parts of 2 seasons in the organization before being traded to the San Diego Padres on July 17, 2008 for Tony Clark.
 
Barrett, 26, made his 2018 D-backs debut last night vs. Nationals, throwing a scoreless inning with a strikeout. He was recalled from Reno prior to the game.
