DODGERS ACQUIRE BROCK STEWART

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired right-handed pitcher Brock Stewart from the Minnesota Twins in exchange for outfielder James Outman.

Stewart, 33, is 2-1 with a 2.38 ERA on the season. He appeared in 39 games for the Twins, posting a 1.09 WHIP and holding hitters to a .210 batting average against. He has been with the Twins for three seasons, going 4-1 with a 2.33 ERA in 83 games. He began his career with the Dodgers in 2016, making five starts (seven games), going 2-2 with a 5.79 ERA and 25 strikeouts in 28 innings. He is in his seventh Major League season, spending parts with the Dodgers (2016-19), Toronto Blue Jays (2019) and Twins (2023-25) and he is 10-4 with a 4.48 ERA with 187 strikeouts in 183 innings. He was originally drafted by the Dodgers in the sixth round of the 2014 First Year Player Draft out of Illinois State University.

Outman, 28, was batting .103 with two homers and four RBI. Last season, he played 53 games for the Dodgers, clubbing four homers and driving in 11. He played four seasons with the Dodgers, slashing .224/.330/.401 with 30 homers and 88 RBI. He was drafted in the seventh round of the 2018 First Year Player Draft out of Sacramento State University.
